Observation details
long staying bird, continuing in the area since (I think) late August. was about 100 yards upstream from the Dietert Center. quite conspicuous, feeding very much in the open in shallow water. initially was on the north side of the river, but was closer to the south bank by the time I left. smartphone photos tba (terrible, but still diagnostic). my third Limpkin chase for the year, and finally had a success, after dipping in Louisiana (Baton Rouge) in the spring, and in New York (Elmira) two weeks ago.
