Observation details
Rough estimate. Probably shouldn't be marked as rare on the filter yet. I got at least one photo by mistake trying to photograph the Red-necked Phalaropes. Medium-sized shorebird; straight and thin needle-like black bill; white lower breast and belly; size comparisons made to other species present. Basic plumage had pale gray upperparts and cap; white throat; short white supercilium from lores extending to just past eyes. Juveniles had darker upperparts, with black center and buffy edges to back feathers; cap darker gray (almost black). In flight: wings dark gray and unmarked above; white rump with gray tail; feet extended past tail.
