Observation details
Continuing here, loosely with an Orange-crowned and 2 Wilson’s deep in the thicket between Grebe and Cypress Ponds, generally around (26.1873009, -97.6624931). Three or four brief looks after we heard the soft rattle of chips which it continued to give as it foraged through the tangles. Fairly ‘bright’ type bird with pale eyebrow and bright yellow underparts. Extremely similar shape, general look, and foraging behavior as the Wilson’s so be careful! Expected Mexican ssp group. Long-staying bird first observed Sept 13th, 2023. Photos.
