Observation details
Probably should be conservative here with this sighting. This possible VEGA GULL made a very brief appearance as it flew past at 10:41am, heading west around the corner of Otter Point. Many hundreds of gulls were being pushed against the coastline by the strong winds at the time, all steadily streaming west allowing for excellent, albeit very quick views. I was in my 'photograph-every-fly-by-mode' and didn't clue in to this deceptive 1st-cycle. I noticed it was a Herring Gull and saw did note a tail band but didn't think much of it at the time since American Herring Gull (AMHG) can also occasionally show tail bands.
