Observation details
Continuing subject, first found by Loren Wright on 11/8. Adult female WISA that may be returning from 2022. Overall drab. Brown head. Finely horizontal barred back (black with white bars). Blackish breast, yellowish belly. Thick long black pointed bill. Foraging on wells on tree trunks; tapping at second location. First observed at about 10:40 in the pine tree (not a Colter pine) described by Steve Neely (approx gps 33.6460, -117.4449) which is located about 30 feet north of the northeast corner of the parking lot fence. Bird flew in about 15 to 20 feet off the ground and immediately went to the back of the tree from where I was standing. I had good looks with bins but obscured opportunities for photos. Bird eventually flew out of tree to the south/southeast. Bird was refound when the bird flew between trees at about 11:00 am in the area east of the parking lot. The new/last observation was from the parking lot looking east into the tree located at approx gps 33.6457, -117.4445.
