Observation details
This individual was among about 20 wigeon in my cove today. It caught my attention because the head and neck were so rufous. Much of the overall tone was a brown unlike all the other female American Wigeon in the group. I've previously seen a female EUWI at Chincoteague with three males each one of which was in a different plumage (breeding, partial breeding, immature). I've had three previous male EUWI in my cove or on the Lafayette River for various periods of time. This individual is the first female I've felt sufficiently satisfied with to submit to eBird as an EUWI.
