Media notes
Bird is perched on the pole in the middle of the frame...yes, it's a bird... Out of focus but clearly shows the distinctive white face in contrast to darker wing coverts and upperparts
Observation details
Seen before dawn; bird flew down from a tree at the perimeter of the construction site, perched for a minute conspicuously on a pole in the field. Pale underparts observed in flight, bird flew silently and without flapping. Clear view of the bird through binoculars; distinct earless owl shape observed and size was similar to that of an accipiter; based on views in the bins I am very certain of the identification. Did not have a torch with me so photos are blurry and out of focus, but still manage to show the distinctive round white facial disk contrasted with brown wing coverts and upperparts. This location is definitely suitable habitat, and this species has consistently been reported in the vicinity (Benjamin Sheares/ Istana/ Marina Barrage etc.)
