Observation details
Flew over trail in front of us in the later morning on our walk, first thought of a weird coloured BAOW as we only had a glimpse. Then the owl flew back to our position an landed prob. 10m in front of us up in a tree, immediately realized it was a LEOW, very good view, small ear tuffs, facial disc and brownish colouration. Had to run back to the house to get the camera. Back at the location the owl left so i decided to carefully walk in the general direction she left (S.W. Watched her during that time). The owl then flew off right in front of me on a conifer. Was able to get one single picture, good enough for ID. as i suspect that she is nesting as the owl was present late winter as well (sound recordings uploaded on this list as well, as the other one is hidden and does not show up on the illustrated checklist for the Wolfs Den), I decided to leave the area the same way i went in to not disturb her. What a sight.
