Observation details
In the desert scrub. I first noticed this bird flying away from me, it's whitish tipped tail standing out. Thankfully it landed a viewable distance off, where I was able to observe. A large sparrow, seemingly bulkier than nearby WCSP. Initial impression after it landed, was a breast pattern reminisce of a Song Sparrow, but with a large bill, and a surprisingly striking facial pattern. Dark brown crown, tan supercillium contrasting with dark framed auriculars. White malar, with white extending to nape. White eye-ring. Fairly skittish.
