Observation details
A single individual was observed in a small tree, approximately 3-4 meters in height, near a large laterite rock, almost in the path towards the western side of the hill. Its behavior reminded us of the Tree Pipit or Olive-backed Pipit. No calls were produced. It jumped onto the large rock upon sensing our presence. Later, photographs were taken. The pinkish bill base and weak face pattern, including a less prominent supercilium, ruled out the possibility of being Olive-backed Pipit. The rather faint mantle streaks, lightly marked or dirty ear coverts, and less dark-centered upper tail coverts, with streaks mainly concentrated in the breast area rules out the possibility of being Red-throated Pipit and confirmed it as a Tree Pipit.
