Observation details
**rare, but in good habitat and not totally unsurprising. Seen here, both on my hike in and out: (31.4184884, -111.1956578), which is about 1.65 miles from Ruby Road. An olive-backed warbler with a conspicuous lemony-yellow throat and upper breast. Long olive tail, wings short and unmarked. Flanks, belly, and undertail coverts grayish. Head ornately patterned with chestnut auricular and crown, offset by a bold white supercilium, black loral stripe, and a thin creamy stripe on the fore crown. Stout black bill. Dark eye. Sang multiple times its staccato, somewhat two-parted song and gave short “tink” cal notes.
