Media notes
Documentary photo and no time to focus manually. The bird darted from vegetation surrounding the lake and landed low on the border fence in front of me. Then it darted back into vegetation as quickly as it had shown up. It eventually wound up on the ground and out of view along the shoreline.
Observation details
The bird darted from vegetation surrounding the lake and landed low on the border fence in front of me. Then it darted back into vegetation as quickly as it had shown up. Its broad orange supercilium stood out, and I knew right away I had a sharp-tailed sparrow. I tried to coax it to reappear, but it never did. It eventually wound up on the ground and out of view along the shoreline. Photo to follow.
