Edit 5/20/25: changing this ID to gray-bellied cuckoo after an E-BIRD reviewer email. Original text: Apparently a rare bird as per ebird. Didn't add it to the checklist initially since I couldn't ID it. Added it after it was identified as Plaintive cuckoo by local borders on FB bird ID page. Will add photos and will remove it if determined to not be a Plaintive cuckoo. Possibly a sub-adult individual. Small Rufous colored back with patterned tail feathers. Slightly curved down beak. Small bird for a cuckoo. Couldn't hear it. Was flushed out from the bushes and flew up to a power line.
