Observation details
Stunning bird and a very excited find. This bird was found in the same area as one I had found on 13 May 2023. This bird had a large black bib and large black face mask, surrounded by yellow. These black regions were essentially the same as shown by male Golden-winged Warblers. The remainder of plumage features were essentially the same as male Blue-winged Warblers, with bright yellow crown, breast, and belly, greenish-yellow back, and bluish-gray wing with white wing bars. Extensively viewed at close range, and photographed by at least a few members of our group. Photo by Kerry Ferguson
