Observation details
A smallish sandpiper, but much bigger than the adjacent Least Sandpipers (or any other peeps); See photo with LESA for size comparison. Grayish upper parts, dirty white underparts. Long decurved black bill (more exaggerated even than bill of Western Sandpiper). This individual stood and hopped on one leg during the entire observation period, to the extent that it seemed the bird only had one leg. When American Crows took over the pond edge, the sandpipers flew, and I was able to see that the rump was bisected lengthwise by a central brown bar. I have some rough photos that I might add if they are helpful.
