Magnolia Warbler, Wildwood Regional Park, CA - 28 Oct 2023
Observation details
There was nothing at the plank stream crossing when I arrived so I followed the trail downstream until I found a small flock of warblers 250' from the crossing. I had brief looks at the Magnolia, which then disappeared. I stayed around for a while and it eventually started calling and I then intermittently saw it until it moved up to the crossing. Magnolia was a typical fall bird with a grayish head with a white eye ring, greenish back, two thin white wing bars, yellow throat and undersides with a pale gray band across the throat, fine black streaks on the flanks, white lower belly and undertail coverts, and a dark tail with a white band across the middle.
