NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. Bulk reel: 100; Extra cut length: 9:08"a) Notes: Songs which are natural and probably represent more than one individual. Some are given in flight but mostly are sitting birds. Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. b) 8:15 to 8:45AM. Notes: Songs of different types which are all of the same individual (no doubt of that). (However there was some confusion and some of the songs may be of other individuals altho most are definitely 1 individual.) Songs of bird sitting mostly, altho some while bird flying. I kept on this one individual mainly by keeping it interested with playback. (Cyclarhis gujanensis is prominent in parts). Quality: 1 and 1-2. Level: +5 and +10. Paper spacer [indicates non-audio tape used for separating one cut from the next.mf] c) 8:45AM to 9:15AM. Notes: This is thought to be a different individual but it's not sure. Another bird is heard in b.g. (also Progne tapera). Quality: 1-2. Level: +5. d) Notes: Prob. diff birds - 2 males sitting side by side on fence. Only 1 apparently sings but both call (?). Quality: 1. Level: +5. (Note: A male bird was seen carrying nest material, but don't know if it was for construction or courtship. It disappeared into the grass at what would be nest height but later I couldn't find anything there.) e) I don't know which bird this is; it's sitting up in tree. (Voice note re movements of birds and indicating that birds react to my playback but not ot songs of each other.) A Cacicus cela then flies into tree (This is then cont. as Cut 14 of Cacicus cela [LNS 60744].) Quality: 1. Level: +5. f) 10:15AM. Notes: Individual not certain, but this is of bird sitting in tree and is ~1hr after the last playback. Here the bird varies its song more and sings several of the long song phrases. Quality: 1. Level: +5. (Note: I saw various Molothrus bonariensis around this colony and so believe there's little doubt that this sp. serves as host for the cowbird.)" PAS.
