Observation details
FOY. Found yesterday by Renee and Colby. (Thanks for your help, Renee!) Photos to follow, when I get around to downloading them. -- overall very similar to a winter Willet but with yellow legs (which are also shorter proportionately) -- solid gray above (with some tiny white flecks), with feathers looking a bit worn -- white below with gray on flanks and upper breast (contrasting with white throat) -- bright but thin white broken eye ring contrasting with gray face -- blackish lores and whitish supraloral -- scraggly feathers on belly near legs -- olivy bill straight (maybe slightest hint of decurve) and fairly thick, longer than head is wide -- walking along pebbly/cobbly shore with a tail bobbing motion reminiscent of a spotted sandpiper -- did not fly -- silent
