A red-breasted sapsucker made frequent visits to a campsite on the east side of Mount Hood. Each time he landed low on a large tree and then climbed up while peking bugs from the bark. This video was captured by sitting still with an iPhone.
Observation details
We watched a Sapsucker pair landed on different trees in our campsite, usually about 4 feet from the ground, then climbed up while pecking the bark. They frequented our campsite multiple times this day.
