Observation details
Assuming this is the same individual, continuing since Mark Faherty found it on Tuesday (10/17). Markings look the same to us, comparing photos. Rufous wash on sides, and under tail; green back, cap, and nape; mostly white face, as well as breast and belly, except for a narrow strip from eye toward shoulder, and a necklace of colored feathers (just a few spots of color). Coming to the hummingbird feeder; it would stage first on one of a few perches in the middle of the garden. We viewed from outside the garden fence, and we saw it come to the feeder only after the one gardener inside had left. We saw it fly to a deciduous outside the garden and perch a couple of times (seen by Scott perching back in the vegetation, not easy to see). More details on id, as well as on parking and viewing, in Mark’s original list: https://ebird.org/checklist/S152484023 (Note: we aren’t aware of sightings since Thursday, 10/19, meaning we don’t think the bird was seen for two days.) Photos. Note added 10/23: Sue Finnegan was able to trap, band, and measure the bird today. HY female. List confirming rufous id: https://ebird.org/checklist/S152943260
