Observation details
INCREDIBLE!! My first ever views of a Boreal Owl! First located in flight as it flew into a tree fairly close and surprisingly unobscured by branches. It watched us curiously and slowly started mingling its way up the tree out of sight. It did call intermittently after moving out of sight but other than that it was completely silent. This was in the same area where I had a BOOW/NSWO call the previous night. Lake County’s first confirmed record on eBird! Elevation was 5880ft.
