Observation details
Puzzled over this photo that was quite distant. Palmchats did their alarm call and I looked around the sky and saw this bird through binocs that had rather long legs and heron-like with large wingspan (flying near Turkey Vultures - so had size comparison). Initially thought it was a heron species because of the long legs. Examining photos I think it is some raptor carrying a cattle egret (longer legs belonging to egret). There seems to be large white patch on the wing ( but maybe that is due to light shadow play). Comment 10/30/23: Thinking this may be an Osprey carrying off a Cattle Egret. Update: 11/12/2023: Great Blue Heron via Ebird reviewer.
