Yellow-throated Vireo
Observation details
The star of the morning. They are pretty distinctive with the bright yellow head and throat cleanly cut off with the white belly and vent. Bold wing bars and yellow "spectacles" along with a larger bill and big black eyes round out the bird. Most Pine Warblers are easily separated, but an extremely bright male Pine Warbler can have yellow spectacles and a bright yellow head and throat. Pine Warbler has a larger bill than other warblers, but not as large as a vireo. The yellow on the throat diffuses into the white belly on Pine Warbler and there are dull streaks on the flanks.
