Observation details
First seen with the suspicious call at about 8:30 but didn’t manage to record it. Called at the same place in front of everyone at 11:05, which provided decent recordings. A great experience to hear the calls of the two species from the complex in the same day, making the key to separation more obvious. To describe the difference, since the frequency range of Kamchatka Leaf Warbler is wider, it would sound “fuller” than Arctic Warbler. In other words, Arctic Warbler’s call sounds “thinner”. The tone of Kamchatka Leaf Warbler somehow resembles Asian Stubtail, but note the lower frequency.
