Observation details
I observed this species along with two ruby-crowned kinglets among the lower parts of trees and bushes in the southwest portion of the lake area. Distinct bluish head with white spectacles. Two white wingbars. Yellowish sides. See photo. Cleary a vireo; the aforementioned features distinguish it from other vireo species. According to Birds of Nebraska Online, October 15-16 is the latest this species would be expected in the eastern portions of Nebraska, so it's just on the edge of being late.
