Observation details
Very surprised to find this Ruddy ground dove perched on stream-side willows at GPS 33.2127639, -108.2350020. Highly distinctive rufous/cinnamon body with grayish head. Lines of black spots on wings. Unpatterned breast and nape. All dark bill. See photos. The bird stayed in the same place for a few minutes. I got some photos and then changed position to try and get some clearer pictures. I found a spot directly across the river where I was relatively hidden and got some shots with the bird facing me. After a few minutes the bird flew towards me and I lost it as it disappeared into nearby willows. There has been a recent influx into SE AZ, so maybe this bird came in with the Arizona birds?
