Media notes
A flock of 20+ American Crows were apparently mobbing something in a cypress tree. What initially caught my attention was the squalling of one particular crow, the same vocalization that Frank Goodwin and I heard and recorded at the beginning of the trail (near Camps Canal) on 11 September 2021: https://ebird.org/checklist/S94508097 Shortly thereafter the calling of the mob grew louder and more frantic, and I watched carefully to see if an owl or hawk would fly from the tree. Instead, a crow flew out, closely pursued by 20 other crows (an indeterminate number remained in the cypress tree). Although I was watching carefully, I saw nothing precede the first crow. The entire recording was nearly four minutes, so I clipped out a couple of samples and edited them together, separated only with a one-second span of silence.
