Observation details
I heard about a ‘possible Common Poorwill’ seen this morning by members of the Big Sit group while I was asking one of them about the Great Horned Owl, so I came by tonight and Matt D. spotted the Poorwill around 7:07 continuing in the path approximately at the same coordinates (here: 47.6563297, -122.4174246). Small dark nightjar with reflective eyes (red/orange) foraging up for insects in small flights. Photos captured, and I heard at least 2 quip calls but unfortunately I don’t think those came out in my audio. A great bird for western Washington, for King County, and Discovery Park’s first record!
