Observation details
Very late migrant. In ponds near the back of the office and visitor center. Similar to northern waterthrush but some noticeable differences: 1) large, white flared eyestripe 2) tawny-colored flanks contrasting with rest of underbody 3) a few spots on the throat but very faint 4) very slow bobbing action compared to northern waterthrush 5) louder, metallic chip 6) large bill and looked reasonably big
