Observation details
Male/immature male. While walking between campsites in the southwest area of campground, I heard pit-a-tuk call repeatedly (although it called four notes and not three). The bird flew out of a tree canopy into another and did this several times before perching briefly in the open, then flying into another tree, where it either went silent or flew out the back. The bird was red, but not as bright as the Lila Keiser Park tanager. It had a large bill and no wingbars. Might have a low quality recording.
