Observation details
1 @ 16:23, 1 @ 17:19. Light morph juveniles. First one I had only had brief binocular views, and snapped a couple crapped photos. Second I spotted slightly below eye level to my south, and then it circled its way up right above me giving great views. I was watching from (34.452805, -119.584505), where standing on the rock allows for a great view of the surroundings These were compact buteos with mostly white undersides, and some dark speckling on the body most concentrated around the neck area, but white throat under a brown head, and pretty uniform brown uppersides. The broad wings and ended with 4 dark “fingers”, while the rest of the primaries and secondaries had black tips giving the wings a black trailing edge and thin black lines parallel to that edge. Tail feathers were similarly patterned with black tips and barring parallel to the end of the tail. Vent area all white. First two photos are the 1st bird, rest are of the second bird
