Observation details
Kayaking north shore of Mill Pond Section of Lake Anna, Louisa County, VA, spotted six (6) American Avocets, non-breeding markings, foraging. Nonplussed by my presence. Wading along with 15 Killdeer. This is the first time I have spotted this species at Lake Anna. Lake water levels are very low and providing opportunities for shorebird foraging.
