Media notes
It seemed to be eating the seeds off grass on the shoulder of the road, looked like crabgrass. It would run its beak along the seed heads.
Observation details
Continuing. Re-found by Rick Whitman on the little island between the bridge and causeway (connected to Bush I.) Foraging on the shoulder of the road and ducking into the ditch when cars went by. Looked like it was eating seeds on crabgrass (or something similar). Moved along the road, eventually swimming by the causeway before climbing up on the rocks to walk, then flew to the far side when a car went by. It eventually crossed the road as well. Looks to be in excellent condition, beautiful plumage, bright, active, quite comfortable with people nearby.
