Observation details
Continuing bird, originally found by Will Black. Observed today with Uma Sachdeva, Carol Maxwell, Mark Singer, and Calvin Hardcastle. First spotted at approximately 10:15 AM with Yellow-rumped Warblers, moving back and forth between Sycamores along the creek, below Treeview Place, in the vicinity of 33.902931, -117.876551 (in the same general area it was spotted yesterday afternoon by Braxton Landsman.) We followed the warblers as they headed towards the bathing spot, just downstream from the first bridge – thank you Uma for your help with tracking! We were able to get good looks as the Blackpoll bathed, and then preened in the foliage above the creek. Similar in size to the Yellow-rumped Warblers, with a yellowish throat and breast, faint streaking on the sides of the breast, white belly and undertail coverts, white bars on dark wings, and orangish-pink feet.
