Observation details
2 larger plovers in the NE planted wheat field. When first seen, they were thought to be black-bellies but after some more observations and some poor photos they look to be Goldens. The distance was too great and, by chance, we did not have our scope, to get better views/pictures. And I am not an expert on Pacific Goldens to make that call without better views/pics. So I am going with the more likely American golden. Thought the pictures are not great, nor even good, you can make out the smaller, elegant head with the steeper forehead and the smaller, thinner bill.
