Observation details
***Mega; first New York State record. Spotted in flock of DCCO flying west close to shore; immediately noted as distinctly smaller and longer-tailed. I quickly took a number of photos as the flock flew by and the details visible from these support the identification, confirming the smaller size and longer tail (relative to the size of the bird) compared to DCCO; also a smaller, thinner bill with a less distinct tip; bill gray with a limited yellow gular patch; posterior border of gular patch more sharply pointed than DCCO and bordered by thin white line of feathering.
