Observation details
Observed briefly in an area of mixed cypress and pine trees, photos of this smallish vireo show a yellowish wash across almost all of the underparts with brighter yellow on throat and center of breast, a dark eye line through the lores, and a grayish cap contrasting with the white supercilium and greenish back. At first sighting it appeared to have much more yellowish color and contrasting facial pattern than would be expected for a Warbling Vireo. However, the head shape in photos seemed to show a more flattened crown than the rounded shape in PHVI, but this could be due to photo angle.
