Observation details
Seen on western sandbar that is not visible at tides above 6m. Tide was reaching its zenith at about 5.2m, shorebirds were fairly scattered making it easier to sort through smaller groups but of course requiring more walking to sort through the spread out birds. Both birds foraging and roosting in association with Greater Sand-Plovers, Red-necked Stints and Whimbrel. Broadies were clearly seperable as small shorebirds, slightly larger than RNST with distinclty kinked bill and split supercilium. Both had somewhat messy upperparts with some scapulars being moulted out and dark streaks on breast.
