Recording time: 1836. Elevation (m): 1825. Habitat: high-altitude stony pampas, in an area with a small stream, some short grass, and a few bushes along the road. Weather: cool, rather windy. Confidence in ID: 100%. ID determined by: watched through binoculars as it foraged; breast whitish and lacked any striations, considerable rufous in wing and tail, and latter had dark terminal band not t-pattern. Two individuals: I can't say for sure which was calling, or if the other one was a conspecific but I think so. Matches some cuts on BSSSA. Description of behavior: foraging actively in road, moving rapidly along and pecking every few steps; then another one landed on the cement railing and one or both of them started calling; I only caught about half on tape.
