Observation details

I first found this nest on March 30th with both male and female in the tree (female is behind the male in the photo). Kept an eye on it periodically, watch the male breed the female on two separate evenings in early April. Last saw any birds in the nest April 26th. In late April I saw a raccoon in the nest and it has been vacant ever since. I talked to the property owners in July and they had three individual screech owls close to the old nest in the evening that month, leading me to believe they successfully re-nested and raised young close by at another nesting site.
