Observation details
This is John writing: Small sparrow flushed from the road to Zapadni Reef rookery, into the tall grasses and celery. Brown bodied (it seemed a little wet), my first thought was Pac wren, but lizzie thought there was more to it. Lizzie was able to get eyes on it / ID it, grey in the face, fine dark streaks backed by warm buff on upper breast. I was only able to get one decent photo of its back while putting down in the tall grass, showing dark streaking down the back. Not sure if anything in the photos is definitive, but with Lizzie's views of the front of the bird, they at least lend some support to the size and shape of this rare visitor.
