Observation details
Viewed from south side of river, restricted private access area. Large pink wading bird with black-tipped bill. Assume a vagrant from Hurricane Idalia. Big thanks to Beto and Marcus reports. Very cool to see here. Fisherman said he has been seeing it since Saturday, and viewed it close up near shoreline. I watched Pelicans and Ospreys dive bombing fish right next to it, and boat traffic continue on both sides of channel either side of sand bar. There was one boat anchored at nearby island with a dog, but stayed a decent distance from bird. They may not have even seen the flamingo.
