Observation details
Heard a series of hard spwik calls from the willows by the entrance to the bypass (38.562816, -121.637865) around 8:45am, then saw a large warbler with a dark back, pale supercilium, and heavily streaked breast moving through the undergrowth just above the water, bobbing its tail and rear any time it landed. Flew out of sight before I could get a photo, but it continued calling for a minute or so. Refound about an hour later with Cameron and Mackenzie, though it remained very secretive. I only managed a few poor-quality photos and one audio recording with lots of road noise (I-80 is 200' north of the location), but I believe several other birders managed to find it afterwards.
