Observation details
Subspecies nuttingi. Two birds giving dawn song at 5:30, 8 minutes before sunrise, another heard briefly further away. One sang intermittently for approximately 20 minutes. The other sang continuously until 6:22, then started again at 6:41. Also sang from electric cable at 7 m, highest perch. Between 6:41 and 7:25 (the end of our visit), singing was winding down but still not completely finished. By then, it was seen preening and hunting for insects in the understory, while still occasionally giving calls and songs. Seen alone, likely unpaired. All media under this species in this checklist pertains to the same individual.
