Observation details
lifer!!! was totally unexpecting terns (which I thought were mostly coastal birds) to appear in this location, when I was riding the car into the village I saw many birds that I thought were terns, with mostly white body, distinct wing shape and small size that did not suggest any type of egret or heron. I think it is the proximity of this location to Poyang lake that these birds are here, anyways took many photos and there were both adults and juveniles (incomplete black cap with checker patterned back), super cool birds! They seem really common here and even at noontime when it's extremely hot outside they're still activ, some flying and hovering high in the sky while some also flying lower. I also heard their calls but didn't get a chance to record them, will try to get their calls recorded in the next few days.
