Media notes
This is my second recording of the same individual, recorded about 20 minutes after the first. The bird kept singing throughout the intervening time. By luck, the first sound on this recording is the first time I heard that particular note, which was then combined with a similar falling sound to the one featured in the first recording, then the combination repeated over and over. When I finally played this recording back, the bird made a brief appearance and we confirmed the ID visually. High pass filter to reduce wind noise, normalised to -3dB.
Observation details
Recorded. Incredibly skulking. Heard almost continuously for what seemed like half an hour, calling from the same spot. Even though we were very close and it continued to sing/call, we couldn't spot it for ages, though it moved location slightly a couple of times. Finally when I played the second recording that I made back to him, he made his way up and showed himself clearly for a brief moment before again ducking out of sight.
