Observation details
Mostly silent but did vocalize a series of 9 or 10 calls that I recorded with my iPhone. I observed it for 30 minutes or so, often at pretty close range, attempting to get better photos and audio and eventually it flew west a short way down the dike trail, out of sight. While I was observing it, it didn't seem the right color for Acadian and I suspected it to be a Traill's while observing on account of it being more grayish/brownish above than ACFL. But the vocalizations weren't quite right for Alder, Willow, OR Acadian. Primary projection seems medium--not quite as long as Acadian Flycatcher. Pumped its tail a bit but not particularly often. Was mostly eating smilax berries and flycatching. I am starting to suspect it could be a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher...
