Observation details
Sweet! Continuing bird found by Jasmine Kay and Dick Cabe over a week ago, refound by Shirley Reynolds two days ago, and despite much searching yesterday it wasn’t seen-and it’s no surprise why. First spotted by Braxton in the tippy top of the two large eucs in the SW corner of the nature area, at roughly (33.7267124, -117.9431104). In our hour or so of observing it, it never left those trees-but it went unseen for around 15-20 minutes at a time. It mainly stayed rather high up and was extremely active and difficult to view and photograph. Tiny grayish warbler with a slight brownish tint, long, thin pale bill, hint of rufous on rump and wings, faint pale wingbars, and slight pale eyeline. Called once or twice, a chip note that sounded somewhat like a OCWA’s(we think). Seen with Luca Cinus, Steve Neely, and John Forbes, and later with Diane Etchison. Photos to add. Lifer for Braxton!
