Observation details
I was only able to get the sex on the two nesting pairs I saw. The others were flyovers and I couldn't tell what sex they were. The first pair were building the nest in a White Pine. The female was breaking off twigs from a nearby Hemlock and bringing them to the pine adding them to the nest. Photos show male watching overhead and female at the nest. The photos are all of the initial pair except the last photo which was of the second female (poor) that was breaking twigs off the dead tree and flying off into the woods with them. I suspect there are many more Red Crossbills in the area as the White Pine Cone crop is abundant.
