Observation details
Seen at 7:04, large and chunky skua fly eastbound slowly, brownish overall with two white flashes on the wings. Pics -------------------- When I went back and exported the pics from my camera, I noticed that the bird has a warmer, more rufous washed appearance. Usually South Polar Skua appear colder brown or like grayish, but I don't really see that color on this bird. Any possibility to be a Great Skua? Which's juvenile have more rufous color. -------------------- To correct the id, since the bird has warm and uniformed underparts, and also show the pale scaling pattern on wing coverts. These features are resembling a juvenile Great Skua, rather than a South Polar Skua.
